  • What should I do if I have a question about my child's health?

Call us at 919-781-7490. During office hours, our phone nurses can answer questions and help you decide whether your child needs to be seen. We offer same-day sick visits, so call early in the morning for the best availability. When the office is closed, your call goes to our after-hours nurse line, which is free for RCAM families.

  • What can I expect at my child's well visit?

Well visits, or checkups, track your child's growth and development, include recommended screenings and vaccines, and give you time to ask questions. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule: [newborn, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months, 30 months, then once a year from age 3 through 21].

  • What is RCAM's vaccine policy?

RCAM's pediatricians follow the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine schedule, the same one they use for their own children, and are always happy to talk through any questions or concerns you have. Families who want to adjust the schedule must meet the minimum requirements of our vaccine policy; families who choose not to vaccinate, or who can't meet those requirements, will be asked to find another pediatric practice.

  • What is the RCAM Newborn Clinic?

RCAM's Newborn Clinic sees babies nearly every day of the year, including weekends and holidays, to check on feeding, weight gain, and any questions new parents have, with in-office lactation support available most days. Your baby's first checkup includes a full exam and the required newborn screening tests right in our office.
