After Hours
1. How do I speak to a medical professional when the office is not open?
- Effective July 16, 2024, our after hours nurse triage will be provided by UNC Nurse Connect answering service.
- If you have a concern about your child and it is urgent enough that it can't wait until our regular working hours, these nurses are available to help.
- These nurses cannot schedule an appointment or refill non-emergent medications. Please call during regular business hours for those services.
- You reach them the same way you reach us. Call our main number 919-781-7490. When we are not answering that number, it will be sent to the UNC Nurse Connect answering service.
- At this time, we offer this to our patients as a free service.
2. What about office hours outside of regular business hours?
Regular business hours are typically Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
We also see newborns and sick children outside of regular business hours at the following times:
- Weekends - Saturday and Sunday - from 9:00am to 1:00pm
- Holidays - typically from 9:00am to 1:00pm
*More information about after hours newborn and sick child care can be found here.
