Undergraduate: Transylvania University (Lexington, KY)
Medical School: ECU Brody School of Medicine

Almost a native of Raleigh, Dr. Harris escaped to Transylvania University in Lexington for college where he enjoyed regular attendance in Rupp Arena for Kentucky basketball games.
Family: I am married to Indy and we have 3 children. We also have a cat named Buddy and a corgi named Patches. We are done having children, but my wife wants more corgis.
Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
Things I like about Raleigh: I have lived here since I was 6 years old. I guess the biggest part that I like is Raleigh's familiarity - friends and family are here. It is just big enough to find something new from time to time. But - I have to add - I do miss Andy’s Pizza.
Favorite Vacation: Charleston, SC
Other careers considered before medicine: In 9th grade a family health crisis became a crash course in "what it means to be a doctor" - that's when I became interested in medicine. Prior to that, I was thinking architecture as a career.
When first considered becoming a pediatrician: I found my people during the 3rd year of Medical School.
Why pediatrics: It’s a great place to spend your day – kids and the people who work in pediatrics tend to be a lot of fun – they definitely keep my interest, and I enjoy the daily work environment.
Favorite part of the workday: I have been at RCAM long enough to have patients I have seen from birth who are now entering college. It is a lot of fun to see those kids and their families in the office.
Interests, hobbies: amateur woodworking, amateur graphic design
Sports allegiance: The University of Kentucky – My Dad and I make an annual trip to Lexington and Rupp Arena for our favorite college basketball. It could be my favorite vacation spot.
