When you get to our parking lot, call the office again to let us know, and when the exam room is ready your nurse will call you to come in and will be waiting to escort you to your exam room. No sitting in the waiting room with a sick child.

Some reasons why you might set up a sick visit

  • Your infant has a fever and is under 2 months old
  • If your child has a fever and other symptoms such as a sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, stiff neck, ear pain, or headache.
  • Your child has an unusual rash.
  • Your child is having difficulty breathing or excessive coughing.
  • Your child has flu-like symptoms.

Well Visits

Well visits begin for your child within a week after their birth when they usually will be in for their first visit to their pediatrician. Well-care visits are part of making sure that your child has a healthy life. Between one month and twelve months, your child will have 7 scheduled well visits. This allows your pediatrician to track their growth and development and provide the recommended immunizations.

Well visits continue until your child reaches adulthood. If it is discovered that your child has a chronic health condition, they will get regular checkups to monitor their condition. This could be things like diabetes or asthma, and they will not follow the regular schedule of well visits.

When your child starts school, goes to camp, or plays sports, they will need to get a physical and this is a common reason to visit the pediatrician at times other than their scheduled visits.
